There is always a compromise between a rigidity and lightness of the cone. SB Acoustics has solved this problem by using a rigid honeycomb structure made from paper and then covered it

a thin membrane of fiberglass. The result
is a very rigid and light cone with
minimized cone distortion. This increases power handling and reduces mechanical noise.
The cast frame has been engineered for
minimum reflections and maximum air flow.
